Forecourt restoration project
In 2019, the Trustees decided to embark on a project to restore the chapel forecourt. Over many years, the forecourt suffered from alterations, removal of its iron railings in WW2, and general neglect.
Plans were drawn up by Harrington Design Architects Ltd. but before planning permission and listed building consent applications could be made to Chichester District Council the Covid-19 pandemic intervened and the Trustees put the project on hold.
In 2022 the Trustees decided to continue with the project and in consultation with the Churches Conservation Trust, their applications for planning permission and listed building consent were successful.
The project went out to tender and the Trustees selected DBR Limited as the prime contractor.
Work is scheduled to begin in March 2023 and to last for 17 weeks.
